SUPPORT: What type of Supporter are you?

What is support?  Support can be many things, but the root of this word is the act of encouragement, or supplying motivation.  Support does not always mean monetary or materialistic. Sharing your time and advice are just as valuable. I’ve embarked on several journeys in my life, and have always understood what genuine (No punt intended LOL) support looked like.  I broke my perspective down into 3 types of supporters:

The Loving Supporter

The Mandated Supporter

We have all been one of these types of supporters at some point in our lives. Occasionally, you have to ask yourself, "What type of support am I offering?"  I’m really big on soul searching, and finding out the root to specific behavior. Understanding how and why you react to things is crucial in your development. We all want to grow right?

Ok so let’s break these supporters down.

The Loving Supporter

This supporter is one who overall loves and cares immensely for the other party involved. They will support consistently without second guessing the project, product, or idea. They will always be on board, and will offer assistance to make your vision crispy clear.

If you don’t know already, I have a very unique and strong bond with my Parents, as I’m sure many of you  do. I consider them my #1 Loving Supporters. My Mother (Pretty Lady), will share and like a Facebook post before she even reads it LOL. She will tell her Co-Workers her daughter is a future writer and they need to learn about the Genuine Gemini by going to my site LOL. My Father (Big Homie) will be on the phone with Friends and will randomly mention his daughter is a Catering Manager. He continues by saying if they know anyone getting married, having a baby, or needs a meeting planned to call me, and gives out my contact.

The Loving Supporter is one you never have to ask if they enjoyed something of yours, they will always tell you first.  They offer critique with warmth, and concern, and will offer help to make it better if it needs improving.

The Mandated Supporter

This supporter feels obligated to support. Whether they are a relative or close friend, they know it’s important to be around. They tend to remind you they could be doing other things, but are supporting you. While these supporters are still supporters, they can definitely be buzz kills. They aren’t negative or nasty, but the energy is definitely different than a Loving Supporter.

The Envious Supporter

The name speaks for itself really. These supporters are very envious of your progression, but need to be around to see how and why you do what you do. They have negative critiques, and always inform you how they would have done it better. Again, they are still supporters, just not the best to have.

So ask yourself, what type of supporter are you?  Here is the most beautiful thing I discovered in my quest, it can all be turned around. You can turn an Envious Supporter into a Loving Supporter. Sometimes the reason behind our actions are fear, and hurt. Some jealously is derived from self-hate.  You ever meet someone with so much potential, but they just don’t know where to start? Then here you come, blazing away with your development and they began to frown and be bitter. It’s only because they want to grow just like you. Help them. Don’t leave them. If you see someone struggling with an idea, offer a taste of your “Magic Formula”.

In today’s society, people are continuously trying to “One Up” the next person. I’ve been victim and culprit of this.  It took me some time to get to where I am, and I still struggle. This has everything to do with my belief in myself. With so many people doing what I do, it gets overwhelming at times.

I was discouraged the other day. A fellow YouTuber released a video at 10AM, by 12PM it had 6K views.  I looked at the analytics of my last video and only had 20 views LOL.  Hurt much?  Of course! You want your brand to be just as strong as the next person. Then God intervened. He shined on my heart and helped me realize I was on the right track. 20 people have now been impacted by my thoughts opposed to 0.  Did that stop me from liking my fellow Youtuber’s video?  NOPE! I liked it and left a comment. (It was a really good video also) Please go subscribe to CeedotCeeTV, she is amazing and hilarious!

When I see someone not being as supportive as I’d like, I understand. While it hurts, I know they just want to grow. Compassion kills everything. BE COMPASSIONATE. Offer encouragement instead of signs of disappointment. They are merely crying out for help. Support the people you love. It’s so important and crucial in their journey and yours. Help someone make their vision come true. Let’s convert these supporters to Loving ones!

Remember while their might be people doing similar things, you are and will always be one of a kind. It’s enough out here for everyone to eat! Don't feel another persons success will hinder yours.

Be Love,
