Clarifying Your Message

Although our intellect always longs for clarity and certainty, our nature often finds uncertainty fascinating.

When you are having “Hard talks” are you being clear on what resolution you want. We often have so many points and thoughts we are attempting to make we end up forgetting our intention. Same can go for Motivational Speakers, or Educators. Are you being clear in the message you delivered.

Naturally, as humans, we don’t like accepting flaws, especially when we feel we’ve worked hard for it. If you worked hard on a presentation, and someone told you, “I don’t get it.” Would you not get semi offended? We often mistake others misinterpretation as a form of disrespect, when in actuality, they just want clarity of your message. Don’t get me wrong there are people who are malicious and seek to cause pain in others abilities, but for the most part, people just want you to be clear.

Here are some tips on CLARIFYING YOUR MESSAGE:

1.     State facts that can be supported first, prior to your personal opinion.

2.     Be sure YOU understand your message.

3.     Avoid oversaturation of words, quality VS. quantity always.

4.     Delivery is important, be sure you are delivering strong.

Everyone has a different learning method and style We often don’t take that into consideration when attempting to educate others. It is a blessing to be in positions to educate and pour into others with knowledge. Never forget that Human Beings are natural sponges, and everyone has the capacity to receive. Let’s work on making sure it gets retained.
